System Customisation

Off the shelf equipment is great if it works straight out of the box but generally circumstances mean that is simply not the case. All companies are different and with their own unique processes. We are able to design and customise our system to meet specific customer needs. Here are some examples of how we have helped customers by tailoring our system:

  1. One of customers required the AutoFast Rivet System for a "mobile" application where the work is assembled on a jig and the tool operator walks around the work installing rivets. We developed a delivery system where the rivets are carried in a belt-mounted pouch and the rivet gun hangs on a belt hook when not in use.
  2. A customer required the AutoFast Rivet System for a production line application where the work is assembled on a conveyor system, and the operator is ostensibly stationary. We developed a system where the rivets are delivered from a bulk feed and the rivet gun is suspended above the work using a spring balancer.
  3.  A customer had a need to rivet terminal blocks onto metal plates. Due to the need to insert the rivet into a gap between the terminals, we designed and built a new customised nose piece which incorporated an extension to allow correct rivet setting. Rivets with the correct grip range and mandrel length were sourced to successfully satisfy the riveting requirement.
  4. A customer had a requirement to set countersunk rivets into a metal plate with a flushness of less than 0.0001 to ensure the rivet's head did not protrude above the surface of the plate. We designed and built new nose pads with extensions smaller in its outer diameter than the rivet's head to allow correct rivet setting.
